What is blues dancing?
Blues Dancing is a partner dance done to blues music.  There is a lot of emphasis on connection with your partner and the music, and the dance has a lot of freedom of expression
Who are the Raleigh Durham Blues Dancers?
The Raleigh-Durham Blues Dancers is an organization dedicated to sharing the joy of blues dancing with the Triangle community.   We hold weekly blues dances at Mansion462 in Chapel Hill, frequent venues throughout the Triangle, host workshops and lessons, and travel together to out-of-state dance events.

How do I learn to blues dance?
There is a free beginner lesson before every Dance Blues Friday, at 7:00 p.m. at Mansion.  The content and the teachers rotate, so there's always something new to learn -- but absolutely no experience is required.

To develop higher levels of dancing, there are regular lesson series at the Triangle Swing and Blues Center (iDanceSwing.org),  and  many special workshops scheduled throughout the year both in the Triangle in the greater Southeast region.   Additionally, many instructors that you see teaching the group lessons are available for private lessons at reasonable rates -- just ask.

But remember -- the best way to improve your dancing is to get out there and dance as much as you can!
